Is there an XSLT Processor for Macintosh?

J. David Eisenberg has just made available MacTransform, an XSLT processor for Macintosh based on a piece of the Apache XML Project's Xalan. Thank you, David!

Why don't the XSLT examples always work when viewed directly with Internet Explorer?

Well, it's true that Internet Explorer has some support for XSLT, but unfortunately, it supports an early, non-standard version (and then added non-standard features on top of that). Since Microsoft has promised to add support for the now standard XSLT recommendation, I decided to stick to those standard specifications when covering XSLT in my book. Hopefully, IE6 will be able to transform XML files with standard XSLT (like that used in my examples) properly.

Until then, I recommend the use of a standalone XSLT processor that does support the official XSLT specifications: like Saxon or MacTransform.
